About Us The Legal Coalition for Puerto Rico is a pioneering organization whose mission is to promote and improve access and quality of legal services for non-profit organizations (NPOs) in Puerto Rico. We liaise between organizations and attorneys willing to provide free legal services to nonprofit organizations, community organizations, or similar entities. We also offer a group training program on legal topics of high interest to the Third Sector. The Coalition has been designated by the Office of Court Administration, as an authorized entity to certify the pro bono hours worked by attorneys who offer their services voluntarily through its Network of Lawyers, per the Regulations for the Assignment of Legal Aid Lawyers of Puerto Rico, approved by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, as amended. It was incorporated on April 23, 2018, as a non-profit organization and has tax exemptions under Section 1101.01 of the Internal Revenue Code of Puerto Rico and Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Jorge Ruiz Treasurer He has been a lawyer in the area of renewable energy projects and has extensive experience in the field of real estate law. He is Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of the Ricky Martin Foundation and co-director of Libertad 2018, the Foundation's first fundraising gala. He is also an attorney on the Board of Directors of the Construction Materials Traders Association. Liana Fiol-Matta - Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, among the years 2014 to 2016. Recognized for her career in the judiciary and as a professor in the law schools of the University of Puerto Rico, Interamerican and the Pontifical University Catholic. Author of numerous legal writings. Rafael Arrillaga - Specialized in finance, law and public policy. General Counsel and Compliance Officer at Dynamics Payments. He has extensive experience in corporate, banking and securities law, as well as experience in litigation. In addition, he advises companies in relation to all aspects of purchase and sale processes. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from the University of Michigan and a juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law. José Coleman Tió - Executive Vice President and General Legal Counsel of Popular, Inc. Fernando Rovira-Rullan Co-president He is a capital member of the firm Ferraiuoli LLC and heads the firm's Corporate Department. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the UPR Law School where for fifteen years he has taught advanced courses on Business Organizations and Mergers and Acquisitions. Luis Pérez Giusti - He has been a lawyer since 1992. He works at the Firm Adsuar, Muñiz & Goyco, whose practice focuses on employer labor law including union-organized sectors, discrimination, wage and hour cases, and workplace accidents before local and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies. Former president of the Board of Directors of the Labor Relations Practitioners Association and member of the Labor Section of the American Bar Association. He is President of the Board of Directors of the OSFL-PECES. Carmen Oller - Lawyer and publicist, President of the Oller Foundation . Rosangela Sanfilippo - Graduate from the Faculty of Law of the University of Puerto Rico.
